For over 30 years, The Source’s 1015 Commerce Avenue Campus has created life-changing possibilities for residents in crisis by offering housing, food, employment, and much more to registered members throughout Indian River County.
As the needs of the community continue to grow, especially for working families raising children, The Source is taking an important step forward by rebranding the Commerce Avenue Campus into The reSource Center of Indian River County.
Expanding Support for Working Families
Recognizing that many local families needing assistance are balancing work, school, and daily responsibilities, The Source has adjusted its structure to better serve them.
With new operating hours beginning May 1, 2026, Indian River County families will be able to come after work and school to enjoy a home-cooked meal in a welcoming environment. During these family hours, parents can also access showers or complete laundry while children finish homework.
All meals are served exclusively to Indian River County residents in a sit-down, restaurant-style setting, complete with tablecloths and a variety of menu options designed to create dignity through experience.
Serving the Community with Greater Flexibility
According to The Source, the goal for these changes is to reward those who are working and taking the steps to get back on track. All meals are served to Indian River County residents who are registered members of The Source and enjoy a sit-down restaurant-style format with tablecloths and a variety of menu choices.
Saturday afternoon hours are for member families and for non-member families only with the referral of a partner agency. Any families residing in IRC who are not yet members and are interested in coming to the reSource Center, please check with one of our referring partners that will assist you in doing so.
To date, these partners include Hope for Families, Homeless Children’s Foundation, Childcare Resources, United Against Poverty, and the School District of Indian River County. This May 1 change serves two different groups more comprehensively.
New Hours Beginning May 1, 2026
Breakfast: Monday–Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Dinner: Monday–Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Coffee & Donuts (Regular Members) Saturday & Sunday from 8 a.m. to Noon
Family Dinner: Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m
A Growing Need for Volunteers
With expanded evening and weekend service hours, The reSource Center is now seeking local volunteers who are eager to make a meaningful difference.
Volunteer opportunities focus on serving food during evening and weekend hours, helping create a welcoming and positive environment for members and families working hard to move forward.
According to The Source, volunteer requirements are simple: upbeat, compassionate individuals who want to be part of the encouragement and dignity shared each day.
