THE DIGNITY MODEL
Housing alone doesn’t end homelessness. Community does.
The Dignity Model is a clear path from crisis to stability.
Not a program people pass through, but a community they become part of.
There are no deadlines. No forced exits.
Just a structured path where people move forward when they are ready.

It All Starts Here.
Over 40,000 meals served in restaurant-style dining every year.
Over 200,000 services provided covering your immediate concerns.
Over 25,000 safe sleeps provided.
Crisis Intervention
A place to go when everything falls apart.
For over 30 years, individuals in Indian River County have come to us during the hardest moments of their lives.
Most systems require people to travel from place to place just to meet basic needs.
A meal in one location. A shower in another. Services somewhere else.
At the reSource Center, everything is in one place.
Individuals who are not yet members can receive a free meal as a first step. As of January 1, 2026, services are focused on residents only of Indian River County.
"This is not just for those experiencing homelessness. It is a community space where anyone can come when they need support. This is where stability begins."
Becoming a Member

Programs & Daily Support
We offer employment-focused programs such as Community Works, Dining with Dignity (Culinary Training), Dignity Hospitality, and Dignity Jobs, creating opportunities to build skills, gain experience, and move toward long-term stability.
Our holistic health support includes programs like Dignity Smiles, Dignity Wellness, and Whole Family Support, helping address physical, emotional, and family needs along the way.
We also provide access to Affordability in Housing, offering pathways toward stable living and continued independence.
Daily essentials such as meals, showers, laundry, and the Dignity Bus® are also available to support immediate needs and provide a foundation for moving forward.
Why we use the word “member”.
Labels matter.
When someone is called homeless or a client, it defines them by their situation. It keeps them tied to where they are instead of where they are going.
At The Source, we use the word member intentionally.
A member is part of something. Known by name. Expected to participate.
This shift may seem small, but it changes how people see themselves and how they move forward.
This is where identity begins to change.
As a member, individuals:
-
Are known by name, not by their situation
-
Take part in programs and daily structure
-
Build relationships with staff and other members
-
Begin setting goals and working toward them
-
Contribute to the community around them
Becoming a neighbor

Becoming a neighbor is more than a title; it is a transition. It marks the shift from simply receiving services to becoming part of a community that is focused on growth, stability, and forward movement.
At The Source, this transition is supported every step of the way. Neighbors are not expected to navigate challenges alone. With consistent guidance, access to resources, and meaningful opportunities, each individual is encouraged to take steps forward at their own pace. Whether that includes securing housing, gaining employment, or rebuilding confidence, progress is always the goal.
As neighbors continue on their journey, the focus remains on what comes next. This is a process of building, growing, and moving toward a more stable and independent future, with support that continues along the way.

What Stability Looks Like
-
Support in building credit and financial stability
-
Guidance in securing and maintaining employment
-
Ongoing encouragement and accountability
-
Support in transitioning beyond The Source
-
A community that remains even after moving forward
At The Source, stability is not the final step; it is the foundation for what comes next. Through affordability in housing and access to ongoing support, neighbors are given the opportunity to build a life that extends beyond what we can offer.
Our approach is centered on choice. As individuals grow, they are supported in making decisions that move them toward greater independence, whether that includes securing long-term housing, maintaining employment, or continuing to build financial stability.
Programs like Tenant Cloud allow neighbors to strengthen their credit through consistent rent reporting, helping open doors to future housing opportunities and increased independence.
The goal is always forward movement. When neighbors are ready, they are encouraged to step beyond The Source and into the next chapter of their lives with confidence. And while that step is a meaningful one, it is never a separation.
Those who move forward will always have a place here. The Source remains a community, a support system, and a foundation they can return to, not because they need to start over, but because they are part of something that continues with them.

in loving memory
Faith is a meaningful part of what we offer at The Source. While never required, opportunities for Bible study, prayer, and baptism are available for those who desire to grow spiritually.
For many, this becomes an important part of their journey, bringing hope, purpose, and a deeper sense of identity. Our desire is not only to walk alongside individuals in the present, but to point toward something greater, a lasting foundation rooted in faith.
We believe the relationships built here extend beyond today. It is our hope that the lives touched through this work continue forward, with the assurance that this is not the end of the story, but part of something eternal.
