Waldo’s & The Source Team Together for The City

Due to Hurricane Milton, and the destruction caused by the preceding tornadoes, the City of Vero Beach had their hands full taking care of their immediate tasks at hand. Hence… the disappointing cancellation of their annual National Night Out celebration.

Lee Olsen, Manager of Waldo’s at the historic Driftwood Resort on Ocean Drive, didn’t want to take no for an answer and with the help of The Source staff, members and The Source Dignity Food Truck, a replacement event was held on a glorious afternoon in late October on the grounds of Waldo’s. Approximately 100 city staff, from police to roads and bridge repairs personnel, as well as many employees from city hall, all enjoyed great food and camaraderie served directly from the food truck.

The joint venture was a huge success, not only food-wise, but in thanks for working together to help the City of Vero Beach try to mend from the devastating tragedy that came through our beautiful city.
