Helping Us Bring Hope and Homecomings to Those In Need
Rodger and Donna, independent painting contractors, were en route back to Missouri when disaster struck: their vehicle broke down, likely from water damage sustained during Hurricane Milton. Suddenly left without transportation, they found themselves facing the daunting challenge of getting home with no support. Instead of giving up, they quickly adapted—heading north on bicycles, sleeping wherever they could, learning firsthand what it’s like to navigate life without a home. Along the way, they came to understand the realities of homelessness, realizing, as Rodger said, “They could be just like me.”
Through the kindness of community members, Rodger and Donna heard about The Source. They arrived on a Saturday with determination and heart, working tirelessly to earn 700 Source Bucks to secure bus tickets back to Kansas City. Four days later, with the support of The Source and our incredible community, Rodger and Donna were on their way home, empowered and uplifted by the help they received.
This is why The Source exists: to provide a lifeline for those navigating life’s most difficult circumstances and to empower individuals to reclaim stability, dignity, and hope. And we can’t do it alone. Your support is essential to ensuring that we can be there for others like Rodger and Donna who need just a little help to get back on their feet.
With your help, we can continue to provide shelter, nourishment, and hope for those in need. Your gift will allow us to reach more people, providing the support and community they need to rebuild their lives.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Together, we can bring hope and homecomings to countless more lives.
Sincerely
Tony Zorbaugh
