Neftali (featured right) came through our doors empty handed, unemployed and homeless. He felt seperated from the Lord and from opportunity.
Tali shared his dismay with us. "I told the Lord, 'I want to build a relationship with you. It doesn't matter where you put me. I want to serve.'"
He found a place to serve here at The Source. He volunteered daily. Tali started praying and reading the Bible. "I can't explain. It's awesome. I put my heart on Him, and I trust the Lord with my heart," says Tali.
A referral from The Source landed Tali at Waldo's Restuarant in Vero Beach. Manager Lee Olsen hired Tali as a food runner saying, "I believe in giving people opportunities."
Tali is an extraordinary individual and hard worker. Lee adds, "He comes into work thirty minutes early every day and you would never know he was living in the woods. He came in with a great positive attitude and just took over. He's that tremendous, he really is."
Not only does Tali have a full time job he loves, he has also gotten off the street. "Tali has a place to live, a home to go to every day. "It's great strides for him and it's his own accomplishments," Lee said. "He came in here and proved to us that we were well worthy of hiring him and he's not gonna let us down." Tali was offered a promotion to cook in the kitchen, but declined because he enjoys being out among the public. "He doesn't want to be on the sidelines anymore. He wants to be in the front row," says Lee of Tali.
