NOVEMBER 2009 - The Source's 5th Annual “Share His Harvest Banquet,” which was held on October 23rd to benefit those in dire need, was a huge success. We can't thank those who attended and supported the event enough. With the state of the economy and the unemployment rate on the rise, your support is timely and so needed, you just can't imagine.
We also give thanks to Joyce Smith, Chairman of the event and her Assistant, Cindy Gambell, Co-Chairman. They worked hard on the banquet planning and it certainly paid off.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our Banquet Sponsors that we were blessed to have this year. Below we have listed the local businesses that support The Source. It is so wonderful to have this support in the community.

If you were unable to attend the event, below is information about the guest speakers and how God has worked in their life and has been by their side during very challenging times or you can visit Mr. Pence's website at http://www.jamespence.com
James H. Pence, a full-time freelance writer, editor, karate teacher and full-time Pastor, is this year’s Keynote Speaker at The Source’s 5th Annual “Share His Harvest Banquet” on October, 23, 2009. He also serves as a Director for Prison Ministries for First Baptist of Dallas; and, he is the author of a novel entitled, “Blind Sight,” a book used by God to prove to Him and others that He has a plan for all of us and it is in his time, not ours that things happened.
By chance had had given a copy of his novel to a family that had children in his karate class. This family, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Caffey, were at home one evening when they were attacked and their house was burned down. The mother and two of their three children were killed during this invasion. Their daughter, Erin, was not in the house at the time of the attack, but became a prime suspect of the crime as the investigation took place. The father, Terry Caffey, was shot five times during the attack, but survived both the shooting and the fire by crawling to a neighbor’s house for help. The investigation proved the daughter, her boyfriend and two others planned the killing. They were all convicted and are now serving life sentences without parole. Erin was sixteen years old at the time.
Six weeks after the tragedy, Terry visited the site where his home had been to try and find a reason why this happened to him and why God had taken his whole family from him and let him survive. He was considering suicide, but turned and looked at the vacant space and noticed a white sheet of paper stuck against a tree trunk. It was a page from Jim’s book and the message it brought to Terry was like a direct message from God.
He has managed to turn his life around and to move forward by going around the country sharing his testimony of forgiveness. He is coming to our “Share His Harvest Banquet” with Jim Pence and will give his testimony. Jim and Terry have collaborated on a book entitled, “Terror by Night” which is to be released in early October.
